Then this is your moment. For three weeks, you’ll work on meaningful projects in the heart of Tanzania, based in the lively and welcoming town of Iringa. During the day you’ll take part in local volunteer work, and in your free time you’ll experience the culture and everyday life up close.
From sports and education to day programs or working at a school for the deaf, you choose where your skills can have the most impact. Everything is organised, departure dates are fixed, and you can even travel with other volunteers. No safari, but an experience that will stay with you long after you return.
In Iringa, you’ll work alongside local projects that genuinely benefit from your support.
Help run sports activities for children, assist in primary school classrooms, support day programs for vulnerable groups, or contribute at a school for the deaf. You’ll be part of a welcoming community where your contribution is valued and appreciated.
You choose your project or combine a few. No two days are the same, with new people, experiences and moments of insight along the way.
In your free time, explore the surrounding area, learn a bit of Swahili from locals, or cook with your host family. This is not about travelling through a place, but being part of it.
Iringa shows you Tanzania as it really is, no mass tourism, just genuine connection.

Support before and during the trip
Our youth trips are led by experienced group leaders and supported by trusted local guides. You’ll meet your leaders before departure, and they will stay with the group throughout the trip. Our Australian team stays in regular contact with them during travel.
Information and preparation
Before departure, you’ll receive a detailed information pack with everything you need to know about the itinerary, volunteer work, destination and practical preparation.
Pre-departure session
We run an online information session a few weeks before departure so participants can meet their group, go through the trip, and ask questions. Friends and family are welcome.
Flights
We aim to have the group travel together where possible and can assist with flight recommendations. Flights are managed by an experienced travel advisor.
A $299 deposit is required within three weeks of booking. The remaining balance is due around 8 weeks before departure.
Safety is a top priority. We stay in close contact with our local partners and ensure all important safety and cultural information is shared with participants and parents before departure.

Our team is there to ensure every participant feels safe, supported and well looked after from the moment they sign up until they return home.
For added peace of mind, we provide a 24/7 emergency contact number and stay in regular contact with our local teams throughout the trip. We also share updates during the journey so parents can stay informed about the group's experiences and activities.

The cost of this 21-day trip is $1,699
A $849 deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due approximately 6 weeks before departure or once the trip is fully booked. If you prefer a different payment arrangement, please get in touch to discuss options.
Extensions: This trip can be extended for $399 per week.
Safari add-on: A 3-day safari can be added for $699
